Curriculum

Ambitious. Balanced. Future-Focused.

At Auckland College, our curriculum is designed to go beyond expectations — stretching minds, nurturing confidence and preparing pupils for life in an ever-changing world.

From Early Years to GCSE, our approach blends academic excellence with character development, personal growth and real-world skills. We believe that education should be rigorous, relevant and rooted in care — equipping every pupil to flourish today and succeed tomorrow.

Early Years (ages 3–5)

In our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we deliver a unique and engaging curriculum that exceeds the statutory framework. Children are encouraged to work above age expectations through carefully planned, play-based learning that supports intellectual, emotional and social development.

Personalised, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity

Individual support to ensure every child is both challenged and nurtured

A focus on independence, confidence and a love of learning

Our teachers create an environment where every child feels safe, supported and inspired — laying the strongest foundations for future success.

Prep School (Ages 5–11)

Our Prep curriculum is built around the National Curriculum — and goes beyond it. Designed to provide both depth and breadth, it gives pupils the essential knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive, now and in the years ahead.

A carefully sequenced programme of study across all subjects

Emphasis on academic achievement and personal development

Development of critical thinking, communication and social skills

Pupils progress through a rich mix of academic content and creative experiences that build independence, resilience and a genuine love for learning.

Senior School (Ages 11–16)

At Auckland College, our Senior School pupils study for Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs (iGCSEs) — internationally recognised qualifications that open doors to A Levels, university and global opportunities. We focus not only on exam success but also on building the transferable skills needed for life after school.

A curriculum embedded with problem-solving, leadership and collaboration

Ofqual-regulated iGCSEs using the 9–1 grading scale to reflect high standards

Booster sessions and tailored support to help every pupil reach their potential

Our senior curriculum is academically rigorous, inclusive, and designed to support future progression — whether in higher education, apprenticeships or employment.
